Terry Robert Hamblin, Sr. (August 17, 1942-March 6, 2019)

Terry Robert Hamblin passed away on March 6, 2019 after a short illness.  He was 76 years old.

Terry  was born in Syracuse, New York on August 17, 1942. The first child of James Edward Hamblin and Mary Ada Bundy Hamblin, Terry graduated from Central Square High School in 1960.

An outstanding athlete in high school, Terry played baseball, football, and basketball for Central Square and loved to relive his athletic prowess with his oldest son, Terry.

Terry served in the United States Navy for 11 years (1963-1974), achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Terry attended the US Naval Nuclear Power School and served in the North Atlantic submarine fleet, most notably on the USS Piper and the USS Francis Scott Key. After the Navy, Terry worked for Westinghouse as a nuclear engineer and later as an electrician living in Barcelona, Spain.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Troy State University in Troy, Alabama in 1976.

A passionate golfer and sports fan, Terry returned to the United States in 2007 and settled in Tempe, Arizona.

Terry was predeceased by his parents James and Mary and his sister Betty. He is survived by his two children, Terry and James who are both college professors.
